Faithful and Sure

Oh Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you, I will praise your name; For you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure. — Isaiah 25:1

As I understand this assignment it is the “acknowledging the grief that is a part of everyday life,” big, little, and everything in between. I call all of them hard times. We have all experienced unpleasant situations, a loss, disappointments, hard times.

Where was I in my faith walk when one of these hit me? For some, I was young and, although I knew there was a God, I kept asking why and where are you. I figured I got through it the best I could. But God was there.

As I entered my 50’s, my world fell apart. So I put it on autopilot and started doing my thing. I was invited to Ezekiel and to Alpha. Although I was resistant at first, I slowly began to let go and let God. I began to have a relationship with Jesus. My friends remarked that I just kept getting happier and happier. And I was!

No big story here, but it was and is big for me. Obviously, I still experience hard times and setbacks and they still are not pleasant. But I have a helper, a counselor now.
